The range of coloured foliage in conifers is large and diverse.

There are some with only one colour while others may have two or more colours in them. Some conifers will change colour with the seasons, giving added interest to your garden when other plants are past their best. For a detailed list of coloured conifers simply click on the links to the right.

The foliage of conifers is also very varied, Pines have needles (very narrow pointed leaves) Chamaecyparis have fronds of flat leaves and Junipers have spiny needles. This enables you to have different foliage textures in the garden.

Not only is the foliage different but also you can have many different shapes of conifer. Going to the ultimate in controlled growing there are many types of conifer that are suitable for growing as a Bonsai.
